5 Free Things to do on Cape Cod – Fall Edition

Oh fall is such a beautiful time of year on Cape Cod. With the changing of the weather,  the falling leaves and the colors of nature, fall is a great time of year to enjoy outdoor activities with family and friends.

The cooler weather is nice and refreshing, it feels nice to pull on a pair of boots and light gloves and enjoy the great outdoors before the winter weather stays.

Below we have put together a short list of things we like to do during the fall season.

Trail Walks – Walking through the woods on Cape Cod while you hear the crunch of falling leaves under foot and listed to birds sing is one of our favorite things to do in fall.

Yarmouth Seaside Festival Parade – This annual event is held on Columbus Day weekend and is the perfect fall activity for families.  See dates

Window Shop – Walk the main streets of Cape Cod towns and enjoy the shops, galleries and architecture.

Have a Picnic – Pack a lunch full of goodies and enjoy a picnic at your favorite beach or park. Bring a large blanket and some lawn toys such as a frisbee and enjoy a meal outside.

Halloween – There are LOTS of Halloween themed events that take up and down Cape Cod every year and most of them are FREE. Check your local newspapers and Social Media for mentions. One of our favorite Halloween events is Trunk or Treat Festival in Wellfleet. This event is put on by the Wellfleet & Eastham Firefighters Relief Association AND the Wellfleet Drive-In and Theatre.
