Cape Cod is a destination and a great vacation place. Each year there are hundreds of weddings all over the Cape at beaches, yacht clubs, lighthouses and more. Each year couples on vacation fall in Love right here on Cape Cod and decide to get married here because it is just so beautiful. I know people who drive hundreds of miles just to get married here and I also got married here. Unlike most brides that I have met, I had a strict budget and it wasn’t much. but, I still had a gorgeous wedding and if I had to do it all over again, I would do it exactly the same.
When couples first get engaged it can be very overwhelming to gather your thoughts and figure out what to do first and what to do at all. There are so many magazines and websites out there telling you what to do, how do to it, what order to do it and how much money you should be spending. What you really need to do is what is best for YOU and your fiance. This is your wedding day and nobody else’s, you need to be in charge of your own wedding.
When you start researching for wedding ideas you will see many things that are just unnecessary, especially if you cannot afford them. Things like hiring a wedding planner and hiring a videographer. There are also many things you can do yourself that you do not need to pay extra money for such as: Make your own wedding invitations and save the dates. Put together your own centerpieces. Make your own party favors and table name cards. Keep it simple. Choose a theme that you like that you can use in your invitations and centerpieces. Use Beach sand from local beaches, it’s free and it’s Cape Cod themed.
