Try OAMC and Bulk Cooking

oamc cooking If you have a family and you work full time like the rest of us here on Cape Cod than you probably do not have much time for cooking a great home cooked dinner. Well, I have read about some great cooking ideas online called OAMC (Once a Month Cooking) and bulk cooking. This is a great idea for the people who just don’t have the extra time to prepare a meal for the whole family every night and for those who want to save a buck or two. When you buy in bulk you generally will save money and this is a great reason alone to try some OAMC. Not only is this a great idea, but there are some excelelnt recipes right online that you can use for your bulk cooking.

The basic idea for Once a Month Cooking is to set aside two days each month where you will shop for your food and cook your food. Once you are done coking all of your meals, you place them in conmtainers and freeze them for the month. This way you have meals already to be served each day and all you have to do is thaw and heat and eat!

Now I have read that this really cannot be done with only one freezer, you may need some self standing freezers and this is where this costs some money. I am not so sure that I would like to invest money into a freezer that will not only take up space but also use elctricity, but I think that it is worth trying this method with your exsisting freezer and see how you like it and then decide from there.
