If you are unsure of how much money you spend each month it may be time to find out.  I like to calculate my monthly expenses this way I know how much money I need to make each month in order to now go into debt.  I do not like to spend more than I make.  I have found a useful monthly spending worksheet that you can easily print and fill out with your monthly expenditures. You can print it out here.  This is a great worksheet that you can use to find out exactly how much money you spend each month.  Don’t forget to add your mortgage and home insurance to your worksheet in order to get a more accurate amount on your monthly spending.

Usually about every few months I sit down and figure our my monthly spending just to make sure that I am on the right track with how much money I need to bring in.  This way I do not owe anybody money and I do not overspend and end up with bank fee’s because of an overdrawn account.

I know this may be hard for some people to do, but really, just give it a try.  Go through your bills box and write down how much you spend on each item per month and add them all up.  Then add up how much money you make each month and you will know if you are living within your means or not.  If your lucky, you will be bringing home more money that you are spending and that is the BEST result.
