Start Grilling!

grillingThe weather is heating up and the sun is shining bright and this is a great time of year to do some outdoor activities.  After being bundled indoors for the long cold winter it is now time to play outside and enjoy the clean fresh air that Cape Cod has to offer.  And this includes grilling!  If you own a grill already than you know how fun it is to grill meals.  Spending time outside in this lovely weather is a great way to grill.  My family grills year round, no matter the temperature, but for some this may not be for them.  The Spring and Summer are the best times to grill.  You don’t even need a fancy grill either, just a grill that works.  Whether it be propane, charcoal or open flame, grilling is a great time.

You don’t have to spend a lot of money on a grill, in fact the less expensive the better.  I have been using a propane grill for the past 3 years and it has worked great and it was cheap, but now I have moved over to the open flame grilling which is the cheapest of all.  All you need for an open flame grill is a fire pit and some wood and voila, start a fire!  I use wood that I find in my backyard and in the woods and burn it in my fire pit.  This is also a great way to trim tree’s and shrubbery and more, just take dead branches off tree’s and trim some bushes and burn the excess.  You will have a great looking yard in no time.

Grilling is  a great way to save money when it comes to your electric and or gas bill.  No more cooking dinner on the stove or in the oven.  Grill it!  Most meat tastes better cooked on a grill anyway and it cooks faster than an oven usually.  I grill chicken, steak, pork chops and more on the grill and I think that these meats taste the best off the grill.  Just buy some good grilling sauce and some meat and your good to go.  You can also bake potatoes on a grill, cook veggies, warm beans and corn and more.

When I was using my propane grill I would fill my propane tank maybe once a year, it would cost about $40 and I used my grill all year round.  Now that is a great deal!
